A message from Jon Ehlen

I joined the PHAME Board because I believe deeply in the power of opportunity, dignity, belonging, and community. PHAME empowers adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities through high-quality arts education and performance opportunities, creating a place where people are celebrated for exactly who they are and encouraged to lead full, creative, and connected lives.

My connection to PHAME is also deeply personal. My niece has been attending PHAME for more than 15 years, and our family has seen firsthand the incredible impact this community has had on her life. PHAME has given her meaningful friendships, confidence, creative expression, and a true sense of belonging. Watching that journey is one of the reasons this organization means so much to me.

What inspires me most about PHAME is that it is transforming how disability is seen and understood by amplifying artists’ voices and creating a community where people with IDD are central to community life — belonging, leading, and creating without barriers.

Serving on the Board is my way of helping ensure PHAME continues to thrive for current and future students.
